Kia Ora from New Zealand, the first country to see the sun at the opening of every one of our days on the planet. Isn’t it good to be alive!
The warmest of welcomes to my inaugural Blog post on this new site, all about the Boomer generation years. I am really looking forward to posting and interacting with you all about the things that interest those of us born in the golden years 1946 to 1964; yes we are the Baby Boomers!
What You Can Expect
I am going to be covering a range of subjects in this Blog, some informative some nostalgic, some reflective, there will be some product and service reviews and above all there will be some just sheer good fun.`
I will also be pointing you to useful items that you may be interested in purchasing or subscribing to. Let me assure you at outset, that where I do that, you would be charged no more than you would, if you went direct to that vendor or supplier. I happily invite you to test this for yourself. This is how I fund the continued effort that will go into keeping this website up and running for your information, entertainment and general good natured interaction.
Here is just a taster of some of the wide and varied articles that you can find here on this Blog, with something to interest everyone.
The Boomer Twilight Years
As I said at outset many of us are either retired or on the cusp of retirement. In this context I have a deal of both interesting and perhaps invaluable information that I will be sharing about this in the coming days, weeks and months.
I am a 1958 baby boomer and as such I am on the cusp of retirement. By the way you can read about me at, About Hamish, which you can either access from here, or via the navigation menus at the top of the page.
I have a pretty good vocational pension from my time in the UK Army, and respectable savings, that I have managed to accrue during my time in New Zealand. This will keep me in a reasonable lifestyle but I do want to have some choice and discretion in how I live in the next two decades or so; I do intend to retire before 65. In fact my masterplan is to retire in 2021, hopefully before, or even on, my 63rd birthday
In order to realise my plan I am currently working hard to establish some revenue streams that will supplement my pension and savings and give me just that wee bit more freedom of manouevre (well that spelling gives away the fact that I am British born and educated, and the phrase probably gives away the fact that I have been a career soldier!).
Passive Income Derived By Affordable Means
This is about passive income, so building a system that works for you when you are not there. It only works for those who are actually willing to put the work in to establish and then maintain the solid foundations necessary to make it work for you though.
Also why would we reinvent the wheel at our stage of life’s adventure? If someone has developed a system that is effective and that takes little resource other than time then why we would not take advantage of that where possible.
In this Blog I am hoping to point you to how you can realise that passive income to supplement your existing income and maybe even replace it several times over.
Not Get Rich Quick
What’s on offer here is not get rich quick by the way. There just is simply no such thing. That said you can tread the path that others have trod and take a lot of the guess work, experimentation and doubt out of the equation.
A level of work is required to get established in a solid business foundation but what you build has a royalty based ongoing revenue stream if you construct it sensibly and according to the guidance that is available.
The ‘evergreen’ training and support is second to none, and I have been involved in training people for a very long time, so I really do know what good looks like.
Opportunities for Boomers
As I said earlier I will be discussing some of the opportunities that I have found available to me, and to Boomers generally, that could replace or enhance current income levels. These same opportunities may give those on the cusp of retirement like me the opportunity and choice to build passive incomes and contemplate early retirement.
These methods can be mixed and matched to suit the tastes talents and inclination of whoever is interested on embarking on something a wee bit different, a lot of fun, with the potential to learn and keep the mind active with the ultimate bonus of building a respectable income.
Look out for some of these articles in the coming posts which are lined up for these pages.
Should you be in a hurry for some of this information and so excited that you can’t wait for my posts (which will be very well worth the wait) then you are going to find the information here at WFHOL very interesting and perhaps even invaluable.
I am really keen to make this experience as interactive as possible. If you have things that you would like me to write about then let me know. If you disagree or want to enlarge on any subject, issue or opinion, then I would like to hear from you.
The more I hear from you, the more tailored these pages will become for the people that come to read them.
So in the meantime while you think about that I will go and prepare the next posts that will be following in the days and weeks to come.
I am Hamish Scott Kia Koha from New Zealand ????
I would be delighted to hear from you in the comments section below, just what things you would like to see in this Blog, maybe you can help to shape where I take it? I will undertake to reply to all comments within 1 working day.
